History

Harasar Haveli was the residence of the Home and Army Minister of the former princely State of Bikaner - Late Colonel Rao Bahadur Thakur Jeoraj Singh. He was the ruling chief (Thakur) of the Thikana of Harasar, which was granted to him as an additional field by Maharaja Ganga Singhji of Bikaner.
Son of Thakur Sheonath Singh of Sarothia, Tehsil Sujangarh, he was born in 1905 and succeeded his father in year 1912. He was educated in Walter Nobles High School, Bikaner and joined Bikaner State Army (Dungar Lancers) as Commissioned Officer 1926. He was appointed Captain and A.D.C. to Maharaja Ganga Singhji in 1927. He was promoted to the rank of Major in 1933 and become Military Secretary to Maharaja Ganga Singhji in 1934. He accompanied the ruler of Bikaner to several International Conferences in Europe throughout the 1930s. He was also Chief of Staff at the Silver Jubilee of King George V in 1935 and at the Coronation of George VI in 1937. The title of Rao Bahadur was granted to him by the Viceroy of India in 1936.
'Harasar Haveli' was launched as a hotel in 1997 by Kanwar Visvajeet Singh (AKA BUBBLES) the grandson of Thakur Jeoraj Singh. Since it has been converted to a hotel, the reputation of Harasar Haveli has steadily grown. Catering to domestic as well as international guests and providing great hospitality in a traditional Rajput manner. Harasar Haveli has Rooftop giving a commanding view of the Junagarh Fort, of Lallgarh Palace and of other prominent landmarks of the city, up to the sand dunes surrounding Bikaner.
